Phones with Composition Rules

Below are some photos shot by me including composition rules.
This image includes composition rules. The lines in the back create a pattern because of the color and they are leading lines. Also, the image is in focus on the girl and not anything else.

As well as the image before, this photo also has pattern. The pattern is shown in the squares and lines on the floor. These lines can be called leading lines and the rule of thirds is somewhat shown.

This image includes three composition rules. They are pattern, leading lines, and rule of thirds. The pattern is shown on the squares and lines towards the wall because of their color, while the lines are shown on the wall, floor, and windows. It is rule of thirds because the no object was in the middle.

Three composition rules are shown here, they include: pattern, leading lines, and rule of thirds. The pattern is displayed on the colors on the lines and squares on the floor. Leading lines are shown on the walls, floor, and also windows. Rule of thirds was also shown by avoiding the middle.

Lastly, this photo includes pattern, and leading lines. The pattern is displayed on the the lines and squares because of the colors. Leading lines is shown on the wall and ceiling.

My Best Photographs

These photographs are some of the best I've taken

This photo is one of my best and favorite because no other photo I have taken has come out like the one here. The clouds create a circular figure and the light comes in through it. I also included part of the water and the mountains in the back made a background.

Another one of my best is this one to the right because all the action was captured at the exact moment, professional soccer Abby Wambach was captured striking the ball.

In addition, this is another one of my best photographs as well as the one before, I captured the action at the exact moment. I also avoided the middle using the rule of thirds.

Element of Art: Shape

This image is an example of the element of art shape. It is shape because the windows display a rectangular shape. The bricks towards the end are also rectangular. However, if you pay close attention, the wall on the bottom contains a square figure.

Better for Cropping: Part 2

Before

After

This photo is an illustration of the Rule of Thirds in composition. Because the photo was cropped a little from the side and the top, no object besides the building in the background is in the middle. As a cause of the cropping, this creating a more subtle version of the Rule of Thirds.

Elements of Art at the Pittsburg High School

Believe it or not, a school has elements of art. Whether it was the building itself or the colors displayed on it, there was a variation willing to be worked with in order to create a thorough photograph. At the Pittsburg High School, the quad is the center of attention when it comes to light. Therefore, the sun forms a shadow over an object which makes an element of shape that can be worked with. However, attempting to work with a shadow can be challenging because the photographer needs to make sure that the object is not covered by it. The lining of the benches and ramps at the school is also able to establish an angle in an image. Although an angle can be created almost anywhere, the lining will make it easier for people, especially for beginners. As well as lining, texture can be found at the quad too. A fountain located near the main entrance has many contrasting colors in the tiles. The water flowing out of it creates a texture that when being focused on it, a striking image. A variation of color on the building, and an arc, will make an astonishing background. Overall, a school can bring a lot to work with in photography. Its just a matter of making it work.

Composition Throughout Photography

Composition can mean many things, yet in photography it implies something different. Throughout photography, it has been essential for composition to be used. In this subject, composition is the way in which you display or arrange a photo. The arrangement of a photo can affect the outcome of it. For example, when a photo is setup triangularly, this organization will give the image a triangular look. In composition, there are five main elements in order to make a good photograph. These elements include pattern, symmetry, texture, lines, and the depth of a field. Including pattern in an image will and can lead to striking shots. However, you need to make sure the pattern is arranged well. In order to have a strong composition, adding symmetry to a photo can be very impressive. Symmetry can depend on the scene in which it is in, but with a good point of interest it can give you satisfying results. Also, texture can create a three dimensional view when in reality it is not, and it can be used when light hits objects at an interesting angle. In addition, lines are powerful elements to an image because they draw the human eye to key focal points and into an impact of feel for the image. From diagonal to horizontal, all the different types of lines are used to strengthen the shot. Lastly, the depth of a field drastically impacts a photo's composition. Depth is able to isolate the subject from its background and foreground or it reveals the surroundings of the object. Overall, composition is very important to photography. Learning the basics of it can lead to striking photographs.

Light

Light can mean a variety of different things. Whether its the light in the room or outside, or even the light that is reflected of a screen. However, many don't realize that light is the base of photography. When taking a photograph it is essential for one to look at the lighting because light will determine the outcome of the photograph. A light reflected off of a screen can change a lot in a photograph. It changes the way in which a photo is taken and the outcome is different. Along with the light of a screen, the outside light cause a different shading. Whether its darker or brighter, it doesn't matter, the light causes a distinct result compared to the lighting anywhere else. However, the lighting outside is something one should be careful with. The position in which you're standing in the light can create a blowout in the background. A blowout will cover the view of the object or person in a photo. Yet, there are moments in which the light gives an image a more natural look. Many need to take notice that light is extremely important for a photograph, its outcome sometimes may depend on light. Overall, light is something you should experiment with, the different types of lighting can create an image that you wouldn't have expected.
